Perfect Vegan Milk for Espresso Coffee

IMG_8550 Sure, coffee is vegan (I’m 90% sure… 10% accounting for the occasional surprise unexplainable use of an animal part). But mostly it’s drunk with cow’s milk, soy milk accounting for just a small percent of coffee being drunk.

Loving Hut (Brisbane) is going to change all that with a new milk mix: 95% "Australia’s Own malt free, whole bean, organic soy milk" and 5% organic coconut cream.

IMG_8544 Pour a perfect espresso shot: an 18-25 second constant pour with lots of crema… mix and steam the coconut cream and soy milk.

The coconut cream ads missing thickness to the soy as well as perfectly covering any nuttiness present.

IMG_8553 I find that Australia’s Own malt free organic soy milk is the best available (in Woolworths, at least) - you may find others in your region. Bonsoy I’ve heard is also great, but unfortunately not fully organic. If you’re having troubles with bubbles in steamed soy milk, try changing brands. Australia’s own does a better job than many others here also.
