This is a more normal fried rice than the curry one I posted a week or so back. Fried rice (pronounced "fry ly") is a good way to get rid of odd bits of food, in this case, a few dubious looking mushrooms that I would only want to eat after some heavy frying.
- Veggie sausage (for a healthier non-soy meal you could use beans or chick peas or a few nuts)
- Carrot (could be capsicum, broccoli, preferably a harder type of veggie)
- Mushroom
- Shallots
- Garlic (I prefer ginger, but I had garlic right there, so… )
How it’s done:
Fry the garlic on a medium-high heat until just starts to get color, then fry together with the mushrooms until you think they’re safe to eat
Add the carrots and sasage and fry for five minutes, tossing occasionally.
Add rice and shallots, season with salt or soy. Remember the technique for non-clumpy rice? Add some water and grind it with your hand a little.
Place into tummy.
